Tanya

Senior Yoga Teacher at The Yoga Room and Pilates

I began my yoga practice, predominantly a Hatha style, 23 years ago while travelling around the world; and quickly fell in love with this beautiful practice.

My dedication and deeper understanding of the incredible power of Yoga as a way of life began 16 years ago.

It was at that time I began the strictly breath-based discipline of Ashtanga Yoga, and discovered the power of pranayama (guided breath) and dhyana (meditation); not only as strengthening & healing components of a Yoga practice; but as the guiding force behind it. I experienced the deeper intention of Yoga - Samadhi.

It’s for this reason that my continued education in Yoga, a period spanning over a decade, has been focused toward deep exploration of all 8 limbs of Yoga; and the profound impact they can have in our lives; physically, emotionally, mentally- and ultimately, spiritually.

It is such an honour for me to bring what I have learned from great teachers over the years, as well as my own experience; to others who seek a deeper understanding of their own life essence - a deeper connection with life itself.
